People all around the world today live with the idea that some day they will be surviving in the perfect house with the best family. There is a lot more tied into living the so called ‘American Dream' that goes way further than the materialistic desires. In the home on Mango Street, one can possibly assume that the narrator is actually a young child having a skewed approach to life because of their young age. Simply by indoctrinating youth with the proven fact that there can easily be a single ideal property for everyone it really is making it more challenging for the future ages to find pleasure if they are also wanting something which is challenging to achieve.

The point of view present in The House about Mango Avenue can be seen as somewhat untrustworthy due to their insufficient knowledge regarding the situations.
